Adhesive Capsulitis
ConditionThe clinical name for frozen shoulder. The capsule of connective tissue surrounding the shoulder joint thickens, contracts, and forms adhesions, restricting both active and passive range of motion. The condition typically passes through three stages: freezing (progressively painful and stiff), frozen (stiff but less painful), and thawing (gradual return of motion). Without treatment the cycle can take 12 to 30 months. With chiropractic care it often resolves much faster.
