Bring your photo ID, insurance card if you plan to use insurance, a list of current medications, and any recent imaging (x-rays, MRI, CT) on disc or via portal. Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. If you have completed your intake forms online ahead of time, that is all we need. If not, plan to arrive 15 minutes early to complete them in the office.
Your first visit at Advanced Wellness Chiropractic typically lasts 45 to 60 minutes. This includes a thorough history, a movement and orthopedic exam, a discussion of what is driving your symptoms, and the first treatment when appropriate. Some patients prefer to do exam and treatment on separate days; we can accommodate either approach.
The office works with BCBS, Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, and Medicare. Benefits and network participation depend on your exact policy. We also discuss eligible injury claims and self-pay options. Call (636) 393-8390 for a benefits check and cost estimate.
You do not need a referral to schedule with our office. Some insurance plans require one for coverage, so check your plan.
Most patients receive their first treatment at the initial visit, but only after Dr. JC has completed a thorough exam and confirmed that chiropractic care is appropriate for your condition. If we identify any red flags during the exam that warrant additional medical workup, we will refer you out before starting treatment.
Like other treatments, chiropractic care has potential risks and benefits. Temporary soreness or increased discomfort can occur, and serious complications have been reported. Dr. JC reviews your history and explains the proposed care, alternatives, and relevant risks before treatment.
