Bring your photo ID, insurance card if you plan to use insurance, a list of current medications, and any recent imaging (x-rays, MRI, CT) on disc or via portal. Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. If you have completed your intake forms online ahead of time, that is all we need. If not, plan to arrive 15 minutes early to complete them in the office.

Your first visit at Advanced Wellness Chiropractic typically lasts 45 to 60 minutes. This includes a thorough history, a movement and orthopedic exam, a discussion of what is driving your symptoms, and the first treatment when appropriate. Some patients prefer to do exam and treatment on separate days; we can accommodate either approach.

No, you do not need a referral. Missouri is a direct-access state, meaning you can schedule a chiropractic visit on your own without a primary care referral. Some insurance plans may require a referral for in-network coverage; we can verify that for you.

Most patients receive their first treatment at the initial visit, but only after Dr. JC has completed a thorough exam and confirmed that chiropractic care is appropriate for your condition. If we identify any red flags during the exam that warrant additional medical workup, we will refer you out before starting treatment.

Yes. Chiropractic adjustments are safe when performed by a licensed chiropractor. We screen every patient for contraindications before treatment, and adjust technique selection based on age, condition, and individual needs. Most patients experience no side effects beyond brief mild soreness similar to what you might feel after a workout.
